This Is Not Allstate And America Is Not In Good Hands

Not in good handsThere is much to write about this morning. So many things going on and so little time to discuss them before work. We have another shooting at Fort Hood. Mozilla’s CEO was forced to step down because he donated to the campaign against homosexual marriage in California. The former deputy director of the CIA has basically admitted to Congress that he toned down, tampered with, and otherwise withheld pertinent information about the attack in Benghazi that left four Americans dead. He justified his actions by saying he didn’t believe it would be professional to embarrass the State Department under the direction of Hillary Clinton.

The state of our country is not good. We have professional bureaucrats who are running the country into the ground. Billions on top of billions of dollars are being wasted on programs we do not need. So many of our politicians are only in the game for the return they can get out of their “investment”. Even in the state of Oklahoma, we have political hacks who are interested only in what they can get out of politics.

ObamaCare is up and running. Even though it is stuck in first gear, it is costing American jobs and income. It is placing onerous regulations on businesses that they are having trouble meeting. If you are a group favored by President Obama, an exemption will be in your future. If not, tough luck Charlie. Just buckle down and deal with it. Purchase your expensive health insurance policy, pay your high deductible, and be glad you are helping provide health insurance to someone else.

I am aware I am coming across as rather cynical writing this post, but that’s what everything I write is for. I want to express myself and writing is how I do that. The cynicism you are reading is real. Everywhere I look, I see little or no hope in America. There is trouble on every hand. Fighting and bickering abound between the different groups in America. Liberals and conservatives are constantly at each others throat. Black and whites can’t seem to get along, although I attribute much of that to the race baiting sponsored by President Obama, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson. Sports teams have to be careful what they call themselves, for the fear of offending some poor soul.

There seems to be no end to the trouble. Normal and average Americans are having more trouble than ever before making ends meet. Everything goes up except wages. Most of us have just a few goals we would like to meet. We want to provide for our families and want them to have a comfortable life. Many of us would be satisfied with that, but even that small task seems to be unobtainable.

I blame much of what we see unfolding in America on two things. First and foremost, the American people have become uninterested in how their government operates. So many of us are interested only in what we can get from the government. Just as the political hacks I mentioned above are only interested in what they can get out of politics, many Americans only want to hear what the politicians can do for them. That’s why the liberal policies of taking away from those who have and giving to those who do  not are so successful at gaining large blocks of voters for the Democratic Party.

The voters are the first problem. The second is the people they are voting into office. It is not a great leap of logic to make this one statement. If our politicians were cut from a different cloth and were interested in doing their jobs, as designed and described in the Constitution, America would likely not be in the condition she is in.

Truly, my friends, this is not Allstate and America is not in good hands. The question of the day, what are we going to do about it?
